Penna’s Roots
Our rich history unfolds with the arrival of Frank Penna in New York from Italy, followed by his journey to the vibrant city of Detroit. Fueled by dedication and tireless effort, Frank, along with his wife Angelina and their children, Anthony, George, and Marylou embarked on the American dream.
Drawing inspiration from Angelina’s century-old Italian recipes, the Penna family ventured into the culinary world, opening their inaugural restaurant. The year 1974 marked a significant milestone with the establishment of their Warren location, doubling the size of their previous venture and proudly serving the community for over five decades.
In 1985, the Penna family relocated to Sterling Heights, and in 1995, under the guidance of George, Villa Penna was born—a magnificent venue capable of hosting up to 450 guests. Over the years, Villa Penna has cultivated enduring relationships with both longstanding patrons and newcomers alike. Balancing our deep-rooted traditions with an understanding of the ever-evolving world, we continue to adapt our creative views when it comes to any event.
